Oct. 22 - Cheerleading Competition at McEwen, times TBA

Cheerleading signups will end on Thursday, August 4. If you know anyone else who might be interested in cheering please have them come to practice or call me before then. I have to cut off sign- ups early so we can get our t-shirts and uniforms in on time.

Practice Information:

Cheerleading practice will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6:00 until 7:00 pm. Closer to competition we will extend the practice time and we “may” add Friday nights.

Please stay at the ballpark as we generally let the girls go home around 7:00 during the hottest part of the season. As we get closer to competition, we will stay as late as 8:00 and possibly add Friday nights. It is VERY important to have your child at every practice. We will learn new cheers every night. If your child misses, they may not know the cheers by game time. This makes the child uncomfortable. Obviously, there are times you can’t be there. Just try to have your child at practice as much as possible.

Attire for cheerleading practice is comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Please do not send your child in flip flops or sandals. Also, please have their hair up off their shoulders.

Send water and/or Gatorade to all practices. Please do not send coke, sprite, etc. It will be very hot during the first 6 to 8 weeks, the girls need something to keep them hydrated.

Jamboree Information:

Our first Jamboree/Scrimmage will be held August 13; 1:00 pm at McEwen.

The girls will need black shorts and white tennis shoes to wear at the Jamboree. They will wear the cheer shirts as well.

Homecoming Information:

Homecoming will be held on Satuday, September 24. More information to come.

As the season gets cooler, the girls will need black long sleeve t-shirts and/or turtlenecks along with black stretchy pants or jogging pants. Absolutely no tights or pantyhose. (Tights or panty-
hose makes it easier to slip during builds. We do not want anyone getting hurt!)

Rules:

Once we get the pom poms in, make sure to bring them to every practice.

Absolutely NO gum or hard candy at practice or at games!

NO dangly earrings or other jewelry at any time!

Parents are not allowed on the practice field or the playing field. This is a league rule. Please be mindful of it. If you need to speak with your child or the coach, please wait until the girls take a break.

Fundraiser Information:

Our first fundraiser will begin on Thursday night. We will be selling donuts. The more you sell,
the less you will have to pay for your child’s uniform. They will be $6.00 a dozen. We’ll have glazed and chocolate. Go ahead and start talking to your family and/or friends. Collect the money as you sell. The top selling cheerleader will get a prize! You can download the Krispy Kreme form here.

Gate fees are $4.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. Home and away. Cheerleaders and football players get in free. (as long as they are wearing their uniform)
