PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT
In, an effort to ensure your child a positive experience in our program, we are requesting parents to agree to the following Code of Conduct. Please read carefully!
PLAYING TIME: By participating in the Tri-County Football League- Rule V.E.9 states that every player must play at least one play in regulation game time which consists of 4 quarters per game- This rule is in effect for all regular season games, playoff games, and bowl games. There is no Tri-County rule regarding playing time. Playing time is at the coaching staffs discretion.
PARENTS’ ISSUES: If a parent has an issue, they must first address it with the involved Head Coach independently of a game or practice and never in the presence of a child. If needed, after addressing the issue with the Head Coach, the parent(s) can request a joint conference with the Charlotte Lions Director and the Head Coach.
PLAYER EQUIPMENT/CHEERLEADING UNIFORM: It will be the responsibility of the parents to ensure that all player football/cheerleading uniforms are turned in no later than the date of the Banquet. After which, the respective player/cheerleader will be charged an equipment replacement fee for all equipment not returned.
GAME SITUATIONS (BOTH HOME & AWAY): To ensure that all players and coaches are completely focused on the task at hand, parents agree NOT to communicate with the Head Coach, any Assistant Coach, or players during actual game time- Except in the case of an emergency situation, this would include staying off the sidelines and behind the player’s bench. Violation of this guideline could result in parent(s) suspension from attending future Charlotte Lions games- After the game, parents should remain off the sidelines and away from the players until dismissed by the coaching staff.
PRACTICES: It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure their child has the correct practice gear and clothing to participate in practices. The Charlotte Lions will issue practice pants to players. However, practice jerseys and cleats are the responsibility of the parents. Refrain from “coaching” your child during practices and stay off
the practice field of play until welcomed by the coaches for meetings etc.
SPORTSMANSHIP:
1. Parents agree to encourage good sportsmanship at all times by setting a positive example for all children.
2. Parents agree to pledge to support all participants, including teammates, opponents, coaches, referees and spectators.
3. Parents agree to demonstrate a positive attitude towards the Charlotte Lions Football League, not embarrassing yourself, your child, or any other participant by yelling or creating a scene, while applauding in good effort in victory or in defeat.
4. Parents agree if a problem or concern is identified, you will calmly seek solutions at a proper time and location, refraining from confrontations in front of the children.
5. Parents agree to demand a healthy environment, refraining from alcohol or drugs at all practices, games and other Charlotte Lions activities.
6- Parents agree to make Charlotte Lions Football and Cheerleading FUN! After all, isn’t that why your child signed up?
